You can try MAPP gas on your propane torch as an alternative. It has a flame
~5000°F.

I've used both (and own both), there is a big difference, the propane gives
false hope, the oxy/acet gives results. :)

all i have for heat is a plumbers propane tank...i guess it is better than
nothing, (then again if i had nothing i would probably get a torch :)
